StatGlance collects no personal data: no accounts, analytics, ads or tracking. Your server list and SSH keys stay on your Mac, in your Keychain.

Summary

StatGlance is a macOS app that shows live CPU, memory, disk and network metrics of Linux servers you add to it. It does not collect, store on our side, sell or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer has no servers that the app talks to.

What stays on your Mac

To work, the app keeps the following information locally on your Mac only:

  • Server list: the names, host addresses, ports and user names of the servers you add. Stored in the app’s preferences.
  • SSH keys: keys you generate or import in the app are stored in your macOS Keychain. They are never written to disk in plain text and never leave your Mac.
  • Known host keys: the fingerprints of servers you connect to, used to detect if a server’s identity changes.
  • Theme and display preferences.
  • Widget data: the latest metrics, shared with StatGlance’s own widgets through an App Group container on your Mac.

Deleting the app removes this data. Keys can also be removed from Keychain Access.

Network connections

StatGlance connects only to the servers you add, using SSH with key authentication. Over that connection it reads system counters (/proc/stat, /proc/meminfo, /proc/net/dev and disk usage). These metrics are shown in the app and are not sent anywhere else.

The app does not store passwords.

Secure Setup

The optional Secure Setup assistant gives you a command to run on your own server. That command downloads a public setup script from GitHub and creates a restricted, read-only user. The download happens on your server when you run the command, not from the app. If you choose “Copy AI prompt”, the text is only copied to your clipboard; the app does not send it to any AI service.

Third parties

StatGlance does not include third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. Apple may provide the developer with aggregated, anonymous App Store and crash statistics if you have opted in to share them with developers in macOS settings; this is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

Children

StatGlance is a developer tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
